Aliens are real.
This is something that was discovered recently, and something people have speculated about for a long time. Area 51, like the Brenthal Brothers Trophy Truck School, is also located in a desert.
So, why not pay homage to our extraterrestrial comrades through our ads?
I initially started off with a Wild West idea, but upon discovery that everyone else in the group was planning on taking the same approach, I knew I needed to include a secondary element to help it stand out. And for some reason, my mind immediately went to aliens. The idea felt strong enough to hold its own, so I disregarded the Wild West concepts and fully embraced the aliens.
To create this pitch, I constructed a brand mirror and a profile based off of an interview I conducted with a friend who is a fan of vehicles and was aware of what trophy trucks were.
This would be a social media campaign, revolving around a plot of a man competing with an alien to get back his abducted wife, with the alien agreeing to free her only if the man can beat him in a trophy truck race.
The alien possesses a gold trophy truck that is of higher quality than the man's, and wins the first race. After this, the man will enroll in the Brenthel Brothers Trophy Truck Racing School, in which he will learn racing techniques and develop better navigation skills.
He then challenges the alien to a race, and the two of them will race again before the man beats him. The alien returns the man's wife and flees, leaving behind his golden trophy truck, and the couple get into their trophy trucks and drive off through the desert together.
This can be done through TikToks/Reels, with the ads being divided into sections so that people will be more willing to clock in the profile to find what happened to the man, and learn about the trophy truck driving school and potentially gain interest as a result.
The purpose of this would be to get the audience invested in the man's journey to get his wife back and become better at racing, with the tagline "Taste the Desert Wind" referencing the atmosphere and the exhilaration people get from racing in the desert. The runner-up tagline, "Release Your Wild Side," didn't seem to fit the narrative quite as well.
Some print ads and banners can be constructed out of the social media ads, as some of them can be edited photos that could be cropped and reused for other media.
Style Guide
Requirements
Some things that will be necessary:
- Two Brenthel Brothers trophy trucks, one of which will be painted or colored gold. If we don't have the budget, a yellow trophy truck should do.
- Three actors: One man, one woman, and a person who'll play the role of the alien. All three should probably have some experience driving a trophy truck, since all of them will drive one at some point in the story.
- CGI, green screen suit and/or motion capture suit for the alien
- Rights to "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" if the song is copyrighted. Certain parts of the song would go well, and the storyline has also has numerous references in the form of Johnny's name and the "golden trophy truck" represents the gold fiddle.
